Hi there, I’m here to talk about the importance of a balanced diet and exercise 
<pause>
Why do we need to worry about a balanced diet and exercise ? well Let me tell you.
<pause>
Scotland has one of the worst obesity records in the developed world
<pause>
64.6 % of scottish adults are overweight or obese
<pause>
1 in 5 P1 children in Lothian are at risk of overweight or obesity
<pause> 
being overweight increases the risk of Type 2 diabetes 
<pause>
hypertension,
<pause> 
asthma in children,
<pause> 
cardiovascular disease, 
<pause>
osteoarthritis 
<pause>
and some cancers in adults.
<pause> 
all of this costs the NHS scotland 175 million pound a year
 <pause>  
but don’t worry
<pause>
we can prevent all this with a proper balanced diet and exercise 
<pause>
Now lets take a look at a few examples of foods and how much exercise is needed to burn those calories off
<pause> 
in order to burn the 214 calories found a 500ml bottle of soda you would have to climb stairs for 25 mins
<pause>
a half deep pan pizza will take 2 and half hours of skipping to burn those 1720 calories 
<pause> 
1 double choc muffin thats 364 calories will take you 1 hr of  jogging  
<pause> 
that 190 calorie glazed doughnut takes 26 minutes of cycling 
<pause>
an ice cream cone with 396 calories will be burnt up playing basket ball for 62 minutes 
<pause>
now 
lets take a low calorie snack like a 71 calorie banana and compare the exercises times 
<pause>
as you can see banana takes far less exercise to burn off!
<pause>
we can use this pie chart to show what foods we can consume more of 
<pause>
and which one we should eat when we want to treat ourselves 
<pause>

so eat a healthy diet balanced and get some exercise to feel great and stay healthy!
